I'll give a short recap. The event went well , though we had challenges. Had a rower that was a no show and a fire ban that included briquettes (normally ok with firepans I use). So had to be creative on cooking the sides and cobblers.

Everyone had a good time. Chuck and I want to thank all of you who donated your time, your boat, and or your money to make the event go. I truly appreciate all everyone does to make it all go smoothly.

Looks and sounds as though you folks did well. I'm really sorry I wasn't able to be there this year. Hopefully I'll make it next time. Thanks to you and Chuck who always do a great job.

Jerry and Chuck,

Thanks for allowing me to join you guys last weekend. A great effort for some wonderful people to which we can never say 'thank you' enough times. You guys put your heart and soul into this event and we all appreciate it so much.

My only complaint - I think I set the world weight gaining record at dinner on Saturday night. After the smoked rib eyes, cheesy potato casserole, baked beans with bacon and whiskey, THEN dessert? Four cobblers: cherry, apple, peach and berry....I averaged gaining about 3lbs/hr! Worth it!!!

We've had people bail, but usually in a call. Most were legitimate reasons. Thankfully we had reserve boats.

Fishing was slow, though some did well.

Fishing the flip flop is interesting. We happened to hit it while it was still on the drop, so the fish were pretty confused where they were supposed to be holding. Once people figured out where the fish were, most did fairly well.

Thank you Jerry and Chuck for putting this great event together. It was an honor for me to row two great gentleman down the river for a day of fishing. And I can't forget the great food!
