cady lake Daphne fly...or a timber emerger..
I don't recognize either of those patterns. Could you upload a photo? Maybe in my fly box or something similar.cady lake Daphne fly...or a timber emerger..
A 9ft leader is fine for the buggers but for chironomids you'll need 15-20 ft of leader. Start deep, just off bottom and creep it up till u find the zone. That's how I do it. Actually, on saturday there was a gentleman I was speaking with and I cannot remember his name and he is a member of this forum. He gave me the location of his spot and the depth to fish at and that's where I caught the 18" brown. Hope he reads this and likes or comments so I can give a proper thank you.still haven't ever made it up to pass lake. would like to do that sometime. I have a pontoon....5wt with intermediate sinking line and a floating line, I can tie some chronies or some buggers.... anything else other than just showing up and making it happen?
If I were to just solely use woolly buggers, how long of a leader would be ideal?
