I have seen posts on this board that idicate the Cowlitz is an excellent Sea Run Cutthroat river in the fall. Can they be caught if you are wading, and is there access into the river in areas the Sea Runs hold?

The Cowlitz is an excellent river for Sea-Runs, Steelhead, Coho and Chinook. There are Sea-Runs still in as they spawn during the spring months and spend the summer months back to the estuaries. There is usually some population present year-round though.

Bank access is primarily limited to the areas around the boat launches however. That said, a creative person still has miles of river to explore.

Best of luck,
Skinny
