A rubber legs material question.

901 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Batt B
I bought some flies in Montana. They were stonefly imitations. The rubber legs material was not round and smooth, but flat ,square and had a wrinkle look to it. Is anyone familiar with this material.

Does anyone know what it is called and where I can purchase some. It has been a very effective ,and I want to tie some. Thanks in advance, Mark.

Without a photo, that's a tough one. Hareline alone sells 20 different styles of "rubber leg" material.

Gat that will help. I do not have a way to put a picture up, but now I know where to look for this material. Thanks, Mark.
I'm going to guess Super Floss or Spanflex, which as far as I can tell are about the same thing. If that's what you're looking for, should be in the tying section of your local or you can get it online just about anywhere.

If that's not what you're looking for, it's still a great leg/antenna material for stones.

Flex Floss...gotta be it.

Rubbery, wrinkly, multipurpose.
Great legs and bodies!
could be flexi floss, uni-flexx, spanflex, life flex, super floss but they are all BASICALLY the same
Norm... yep.

That's why it is such a surprise that Hareline carries so many different products as leg material. I can understand offering the flat type, the round type and the banded type but beyond that, there seems to be a lot of similarity between products.

It's so that we keep buying it!
