Nice weather but cold for August.
Cold Front was coming through but winds were fairly calm. High was only 70 degrees.
Fishing the slowest I and my friend Al have had in a long time.
The weeds were gone for the most part, they must have treated the water.
Creek is running very high. Had to wade through the cattails to get to the fishing spots. [No we don't wade the creek, just through the cattails and reeds]
I threw the book at them. Al stuck with his brown mini leech. Results about the same. They just weren't hitting very often.

No ticks and no rattle snakes.

I hate ticks.

I always wondered how others handled the wet cattails and no wading laws. I've always been afraid that wet feet could be taken as wading regardless.
I wasn't aware they could treat the weeds in that manner.

I don't know if they can. Al thinks they treat the weeds with some kind of herbicide, I really don't know. But, I was surprised at the lack of weeds. The water runs quite high in August and September. The only way to fish in the reeds and the cattails is you will have to wade in through about 3 inches of water. Just follow the trails. I'm sure they don't consider that wading in the creek. Don't know why it was so slow.
