I'm ignorant on this subject, but conserving wild trout in popular fisheries always seems like a good idea.
It might be preemptive due to all the pike moving downstream. I know the bios are worried about what will happen to the native redband numbers once the pike hit the San Poil.Is this where the Jurassic specimens reside? Agree, good news but surprising that rule hasn't been in place for years.
I found it interesting that harvest of those beautiful redbands is allowed in the upper reaches where the lake effect from Grand Coulee ceases. I also wonder about the effects of all the plunkers using bait and the release of adipose present trout? Regardless of my concerns, it's a step in the right direction!I'm surprised that they still allowed harvest of wild trout on the very upper stretch near Canada. That's where most of the restrictions during spawning season are established for wild trout, yet they now require c&r everywhere BUT there?
Have you ever or have u heard of fly guys targeting Pike on Roosevelt with success? Seems right up my ally but I don't see much infoIt might be preemptive due to all the pike moving downstream. They're still talking about it, but they need one at Chief Joe first.Trip,
There was talk about fish passage at Grand Coulee.
Any word on where that stands at this time?
