Ed, good points, and I bet you are a bit more "Fishy" than you let off to be dude :thumb:Cheeze and freakin' rice. Off to get the popcorn so early in the morning.
Distance and accuracy are fine but not one versus the other in principle. Consider presentation too. If you are sight fishing to fish you can see or can see rising then you have to have the distance to reach them, the accuracy to place the fly in their feeding zone and the presentation that will ensure you've not spooked them. This would be a combined tactical approach that seems to benefit from each of your skills, regardless of which you think is more important you'll need a balance of them all for success. It also won't have shit to do with the rod in hand or hands and the line on that rod if you can deliver the goods as needed. When searching for fish that you can't see or can't see evidence of you might be able to forego the accuracy and just bomb out big distance casts. I don't have the distance, accuracy or presentation cards to play so I'm on the search for stupid fish.
Why didn't I think of that................................................................................................
