I get 4 nice long days away from the cubicle! What is a man to do when he has no obligations???

Family is off on vacation. Brother is celebrating with his wife's. Girlfriend is off on vacation with her family. This leaves me home alone, for 4 full days :)

Heres my plan:
Thursday - take a short trip out to Middle Fork Snoqualmie. I've fished MF Snoq a few times but never really explored. I really do enjoy the area. Thursday, I plan on hiking along the trail and hitting the water for some cutties.

Friday - Possible trip down to OR to meet with a friend for some fishing, no idea where he's planning on taking me.

Sunday - Taking a stab at some SRC's. No success at all for me yet since i've started fly fishing so hopefully this one will be a winner.

Of course nothings definite but the possibilities are endless.
What are your plans folks?

yeah my friend drove by a couple days ago, said the water level is looking decent. im also considering taking the longer drive out to Yakima after reading a couple reports...

btw, anyone fish Chehalis River much? I remember a friend of mine saying they get a decent salmon run but anyone know if theres much of a trout population down there? I checked out Rainbow Falls down there once, looked like a fun place to fish but haven't heard much about it.

I'd go check in at the Golden Oak Motel in Lewiston, Idaho, have breakfast across the street at Rusty's the next morning, fish the Snake for steelhead above Asotin all day, have dinner at El Sombrero, tie a few flies while drinking a good single malt, then hit the sack before doing it all over again. That's what I'd do if I had four days.

leland, ill have to spend my 4 days vicariously through you. I wish i had the balls and the skills to head out there but having very limited skills at fly fishing, i'm sticking to local waters for now.

Leland, this post hurts badly. I'll be flat on my back for much of the long weekend after some stupid human tricks has my back out of whack. Damn your four day plan sounds so much better than mine. I might see if I can find a good single malt though, that might make lying on the floor staring at the ceiling a bit more tolerable. Do you have four days off or is that just what you'd do if you did? Regardless, I hope all have a great holiday weekend and have something to be thankful for, be it fishing, health, family or whatever is important to you.

Ed,

I was just replying to the original post. It is what I would do, in a shot, if I could scrounge four days off.

Leland, sorry you don't have four straight days off. Of course you know I like how you think! I'm hopeful you'll get some skytime or other quality time out and that I get to read about it.

Yes we are. That's why I don't have four days off.

I've been off since May of '99. Retirement sure is fun. But I wish that I was 72 again so I could get up and go. bawling:bawling:These last two years have slowed me down.

Aging is no fun. bawling:bawling:
