Next up, cork guns then kitchen utensils over 6 inch length. Pathetic would be a gross mischaracterization.
It took me a while to figure out what was meant by "air weapons." Duh, I guess they mean pellet guns. Licensing pellet guns? Now that's an example of bureaucratic success!!

No kudos for Scotland.
I suspect, were I a Scot, the OL would be havin' me register my flatulent offensive powers under this inequitable and over-reaching statute.

Wonderin' if the constabulary spent a bit too much time, over the holidays, watchin' "A Christmas Story".
This what happens when you are a subject...

Glad to know my 9 year old self would be a Scottish criminal.

What I want to know is when they're going to start regulating those telephone poles that they chuck about. That'll really put an eye out.

Where the hell is Alex in all this? Will claymores next be the victims of Scottish arms regulation? Will a band of highland hooligans equipped with slingshots and stuffed sheep entrails be able to threaten the sanctity of the average Scotsman's castle with impunity?

William Wallace would be turning over in his grave, if he had one.

I'm actually surprised this hasn't been pushed for in the US yet.

What's next for them, the sling shot?
When the first serious crime is committed in this country with an airgun it will happen. Most anti-gunners don't know much about air guns. There is some pretty sophisticated technology out there now.

There are some pretty good/great air rifles out there. I just dont think that anyone who plans on committing a serious crime, is going to use an air rifle/pistol.

Yes, it could be mistaken as a real gun, thus robbing a bank/etc, but that's been done already with toys. You'd have to outlaw anything that looked like a gun.

"Level 2"... WTF?? Who comes up with this shit? The school probably went into DEFCON 4 during the event.
Thing about these airguns, as I understand, is no FFL needed to order one through the mail. Anyone can get one.

And there shouldn't be.

I had one that shot darts and BB"s. It looked like a real 45 Cal. Hand gun.. But it wasn't accurate beyond 15 feet. I used to plunk cans off the fence with it.
Old Man, things have come a long way in recent years, Check these out:

And they can be very accurate! Both of these are zeroed at 70 yards.

Kinda puts my break barrel Gamo to shame. Still rabbits are eliminated from my garden regularly at 25 yds. I assume if peta hears of this my pellet rifle will be listed as an assault rifle.
