I'm headed to Ambergris Caye, Belize in April 2010 for a week. Looking for some local info on fishing opportunities. Primarily do it yourself flats / bonefishing.
I'm not opposed to hiring a guide so any info on that would be welcome as well.

I found this trip report in the the boards Trip Repors with Pics section. Belizean Trifecta - Ambergris Report - Guided and DIY. It is a great report with maps reccomendations and tackle requirements. Feel free to contat the author is you have any questions.

Depends where you are on the Caye. North of San Pedro there are a lot of flats where you can easily stalk your own fish. South of town is a bit tough. Guides won't have trouble getting you into fish.

Do yourself a favor and buy a bonefish line before you go. It is well worth it and almost a necessity if you are fishing in any kind of a wind (which you will).
