Totally. With you there on that one!
Oh ye of little faith! Give the guy a chance, he's been practicing in an NFL system for four years, so he's ahead of any college qb. Pete Carroll has coached some pretty good qb's, so he knows talent, and dropping 20 spots in the 2nd round aint that bad. They have a lot of needs like D-line and O-line,that they need to address. There are some pretty good qb's that were vurtual unknowns ( Tom Brady, Joe Flacco). I'm not saying he'll be that good, but hey Hasselbeck took the Hawks to the super bowl.
Charlie Whitehurst may have any PRO stats to show for, but he doe's show the signs of having potential. Now to fill in after the second game of the season (come on now, does anyone really think Hasselbeck is going to stay off the injured list?) may leave us in a crapped position again. At least this backup can see over the line better. Let's not leave out that we have been picking up draft picks from our trades over the past year and this draft season has a number of QB's that have a lot of potential though we still don't have a line to get any plays going.
I can't catch fish watching football games.....party pooper here.
Very True Larry.
Here is a list for the Seahawks:
Priority one - Offensive line.
Priority two - Defensive line
Priority Three - If Hassleback is still getting hurt after we get on O line, then a new QB is in order.
Priority four - Did I mention an offensive line already?
And why can't they figure this out? No offense to the old and wise, but brut strength is brut strength right? I like Matt Hasselbeck, seems like a nice guy. Though he's not a high ranked QB, a lot of it isn't his fault. There was a stat on offensive lines that stated that Hasselbeck averages over half a second of less time to complete a play than the NFL average.
Hey, Football season is five months away. Give us a break.
2nd and ten.....Whitehurst drops back....what an arm..he overthrows his reciever by 15 yards....but impressive arm strength.....not many qb's can make that type pf throw. 3rd and ten.....Whitehurst drops back....he's looking deep...he could...but he doesn't...oh wait he can't...he runs instead...what a great run...he such an athlete...he gains 7 yards....it's now fourth and three..seahawks will punt now!..and punt and punt and punt....we might need cortez and eugene back.......let's not hope for the flores days again!
So what do we really know about Charlie whitehurst? his only solid stats are from his college days right? He did have a few great games and a couple of record scoring ones. But nothing solid. Like Trent said, our number one priority should be an offensive line. Without it you can't get consistent passing and forget running the ball. The MVP for yards rushing should of went to our star lineman Hutchinson instead of Alexander. The Grey Ghost pretty much became a ghost in yardage gains after Hutchinson went to the vikings. So what's that say for the Seahawks now? Well, you can't do the same thing over and over and expect different results. you're right Old Man, there's still a lot of time before we get going, but our track record for making smart decisions leaves a lot of us in doubt.
Draft the best O-Line available with first 3 picks. Leave the backfield as is and pray for a 2-14 season. Next year we get Locker and the best H-Back on the board. There isn't a quick fix for what's happened to the team since our Super Bowl year. But if we manage to get Jake and a top back next year, we would have a great team for a long time....sorry, just another 'homer' who bleeds Purple!
Well, it already seems like Pete Carrol know's how to manage team money to get what he wants(as in USC) so I'm sure he's going to find a way to accelerate the new team growth. I'm hoping for at least an 8-8 season, but what the hell. If we go 2-14 at least we'll have a better draft pick......again. Nothing wrong with Bleeding Purple Sportsman. Pretty impressive right now in March Madness.
There is a month to wait. Between now and then there is NCAA March Madness and opening day in MLB right around the corner.
Since there is nothing about fishing in this thread. Where in the hell is the NFR

Now you are on the NFR bandwagon?
