A few changes from the original; used rat brown ostrich for the body instead of dubbing and added a tag.

hook - Dai Riki 899 #4
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tag - tinsel gold
tail - bucktail red
rib - small wire gold
body - ostrich grey/brown
body hackle - cree
wing - bucktail red/fox squirrel tail
front hackle - black

mash barb, start thread, wrap to point above point; tie in tinsel, wrap to barb and back, tie off/trim

measure (shank length) a small clump of bucktail; tie in

tie in rib

tie in some ostrich herl by the tips; wrap to return wire, tie off/trim

tie in hackle; wrap to tail

capture tip of hackle with rib, continue to front, helicopter end, cover with thread, trim hackle tip

measure (tips to bend) another sparse clump of bucktail; tie in/trim

repeat with squirrel tail

tie in (folded) hackle by tip

wrap hackle, tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN

Love this pattern, extremely buggy! I'm tying them up on Alex Jackson 5s for steel and 7s for steelhead and trout. I've already had great success with it in Boulder gardens where big bugs were hatching. Thanks for sharing scott
