Headed over to a Bainbridge island beach not too far from my house this morning for what I figured would be just a nice morning of casting practice. Got on the water around 8:30, and fished till about noon. Tide was going out, and didn't see any sign of fish. Started casting an olive over white clouser, and after about 20 minutes hooked and landed a beautiful 16" rezzie. Another 15 minutes or so and I hooked and landed another, this one around 14". Shortly after I landed another, a twin of the first one. 3 casts later I hooked into a good fish that took off and took me almost into the backing before spitting the hook. Never saw that one. After that the action seemed to die down. Worked my way down the beach and back without another bump. Sat on a log and had a victory smoke before calling it a day. All in all a wonderful morning. It was very nice to get the smell of skunk off me and feel the tug on the end of the rod.
On a side note, all 4 fish hooked hit very softly. Just a small bump that felt similar to bumping bottom. Is this standard for rezzies?
