I was just wondering if anyone else sees this phenomenon? In the fall where I fish, big trout herd minnows into "bait balls" and slash at them on the surface. It's total carnage! The fishing can be awesome tossing unweighted streamers into the fray and stripping back fast when this occurs.
I've heard of stripers and other salterwater species exhibiting this kind of behavior, but has anybody else seen this occur with trout?

yes, it is awesome. I have seen them push bait onto shore and beach themselves like killer whales on a patagonian seal. Very cool to see. It will happen on pretty much any lake or body of water with bait and predators, any ecosystem. That is where you want to be when it all goes down.
