I spent 10 days with the family at our condo in Cape Canaveral, FL going to the beach and getting to see a Space Shuttle Launch early in the week. I fished almost everyday right behind our building and managed to catch a few nice fish during the week eventhough it was fairly windy most of the time we were there. I caught a few nice Spotted Trout, two that were a little over 20 inches (see pics). One morning, I got up when it was still dark and on the fourth or fifth cast 50 ft or so out from the bank, I hooked something big. My reel started singing and I was in my backing pretty quickly. After a good long fight, I landed a 34 inch Redfish. Unfortunately in my haste to get out of the condo quietly without waking up my wife or 2yr old daughter, I didn't grab a camera so I have no record of the largest fish I have ever caught on a fly rod.
I also fished a couple hours up one afternoon in the Mosquito Lagoon near Titusville when we went up to the Canaveral National Seashore but it was super windy day and the fishing was poor. I only caught a few junk fish. I also tried some surf fishing whenever we went to the beach. But the days I brought my rod, it was almost always windy and/or high surf. I also didn't hit the optimal tidal periods so needless to say I didn't have much luck in the surf.
But all in all, I was really happy with the fish that I was able to catch during the week.
