Often times when a chironomid hatch ends, I throw a leech. This is targeting the fish who have gorged themselves and try to plug the bugs inside with a chunk of meat.

It's pretty consistent for those after hatch lulls.

Anyways, I came up with this to add to the repertoire after brainstorming. In the late spring the hatch often ends because the sun gets bright and the water warms up. This is when I hope this fly pays off. Full sun scenarios.

Interesting fly. I've tied flies with multiple beads, mostly stoneflies, but adding the dubbing in between is something I hadn't thought of. Like it.
