Currently holed up at a central-Oregon river... last few evenings the fishing has been pretty good... guide boats come by with client's rods reeled in- they are done- on their way to the downstream pizza and beer stop- we/I sheepishly fiddle about the boat while they drift past and/or hope and pray that we don't hook up when they pass- we are in the slow water that people think don't have any fish or have little ones... they are wrong- certainly nothing wrong w/ pizza and beer but it is amusing that they bypass water that appears to be unproductive- the lesson for me is to not judge water by its cover... nothing beats mid-summer evening hatches!
