Drove down to Big river California to do the Thanksgiving thing.Of course I brought the fly rod (never leave home without it right)Fished the Colorado river at many places, but most in the strech from Lake Havasu down to Big river. My fav is "Cat Tail Cove" or "Buckskin Canyon",but fishing was good in Big River too.Mostly got into big carp although, I did get a few Bigmouth and one small stripper too.I was hucking mostly Jesus Streamers, but got a couple strippin muddler patterns on top through frog water.I bought a CRIT (Colorado River Indian Tribe) fishing licsence. It was 5 bucks a day.The law wouldn't allow me take fish out of the water, unless I was gonna keep them.So that didn't make for good fish pics, but of course great memories. If you ever get the chance I 'd highly recomend the trip.Staying in Big river is sweet, cheap and Super Scenic. There are many things to keep you busy other than fishing aswell.Anything from ORV,Hunting,Boating,RV. Across the border about ten miles away is Parker AZ wich has a nice Casino with a super sweet water park.Great golf courses.Weekend swapmeets.Very fun place to visit. Ecspecially this time of year wich was a perfect 80 degrees with cool nights.Wierd animals run about in the night there so be carefull.I wondered where the wild donkeys go in the day cause they came out at night eeeeeaaaaaahhhh. The sounds of the dessert at night was creepy cool.Anyhow here are some pics there's more on my profile site feel free to stop and check em out.
