Not sure if there's an ether leak at the factory but they do have some interesting patterns. Change colors/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #8
underbody - non-tox .030
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - biots gold
rib - oval tinsel gold
abdomen - dubbing cream
thorax - Ice Dub hot orange
wing - pheasant rump dyed brown (I think they used partridge but I'm having fun with the pheasant)

mash barb, wrap front half of shank with non-tox; start thread, wrap to bend, create thread bump

measure (gap width past bend) a pair of biots; tie in tight to thread bump to splay, trim

tie in rib

dub thread/dub abdomen to 2/3 mark

counterwrap rib; tie off/trim

dub thread/dub thorax

trim center stem out of rump feather, measure (tips to bend), tie in/pull forward to length

trim, whip finish, SHHAN

it appears that you're running a series of half-hitches down the length of non-tox wraps. Care to explain?
I started the thread in front of the non-tox and spiraled thru to the back end. Caught the tag end of the thread in the process and it looks like half-hitches; sloppy on my part.

Scott
