Bodgen Fly Reels ?

Do some research on Stan Bogdan and you will gain some insight into why his reels bring such prices.

Generally, seems that demand, scarcity and quality drive prices. or guys that have too much dough and need to try and flaunt it at every corner...maybe to impress the doe's...

Bogdan's are classic, beautiful reels. So are old Leica cameras. Some use them, some treat them like jewelry.

Because Bogdan reels are hand made, one at a time, as well as Stan Bogdan and for decades now, his son Steve, can make them. The parts on mine won't necessarily fit yours of the same model. You have to send it in to have a spare spool custom made for your reel, should you want one.

I have caught a total of maybe two steelhead while using mine. It stays in its leather bag stored away. I should probably make a display case for it so that I can enjoy it more frequently.

Close, but actually Stan Bogdan said he bought manufactured screws and then modified them for use in his reels. It would be silly for anyone to hand make something as basic as machine screws one at a time, unless there was no commercial product available.
