Several recent forays into the woods have been fruitful. The birds are really spooky, flushing well out of sight or decent shot. But a few fell to the gun. Beautiful specimens, one had particularly large pectinations already. All the ones taken are gray phase, haven't seen any red phase birds so far. Winter is on our heels friends...the birds know it for sure.

Nice... Love the pics of a classy break action gun with a handsome bird.

I just finally got my first o/u gun, what kind is that one in the pics?

The O/U is a Beretta Silver Pigeon, 28 bore. It's a delight to carry as it is very light but still swings with authority.

Very nice. I just got one of the mossberg international silver labels. No where near as nice, and the reviews were mixed. But for <$700 I'll give it a try. I debated between 20 and 12 gauge but settled on the 12 for upland / pheasants. But I may go back and get the 20 also if this one proves reliable!
