In addition to the Speyco reel I mentioned in your Speyco thread I also had a Cascapedia MKII 4/5. It is another well made reel. Like any well made reel it will last a lifetime or two if you take care of it. It is lighter weight than the Speyco of similar size.
Unless you are talking about solid-built bamboo fly rods, those reels are way too heavy for trout rods, IMHO. I even think they're heavy for cane, and I fish a ton of it.
