A name forever synonymous with fly fishing.

Guided for Bud one year before he sold his shop in West Yell.
One of the original pioneers and promoters of Montana flyfishing.
He emphasized appreciation for the whole experience rather than just numbers of fish caught. Had a real knack for remembering names.
He'll be missed

I visited Bud Lilly's fly shop as a little kid every summer throughout the 1980s. He was a very nice man.

Boy, that is sad news. Never been to "West", or met him, but knew of him through print. Guess he lived a life worth living and imagine he had many friends.
