Spent the afternoon at Thunderbird on the Skykomish but no fish. I scrambled down the bank with my spey rod and paddles and then made a second trip with my pontoon boat. When I reached the other side of the river I realized the tip section of my rod was missing. It had pulled off as I scrambled down the bank in the brush. One river crossing and 20 minutes later I managed to find the tip in the brush. I lost the tip of a Spey rod on the North Stilly in similar fashion a couple years ago. You'd think I'd learn: string up your leader and fly before plunging into the brush with your spey rod or you may leave the tip behind.
