On Wednesday, December 9th, the North Sound Chapter of CCA will host it's general membership meeting in Bellingham at 4350 Cordata Parkway from 6:00 - 8:00pm. The guest speaker will be Steven Thiesfeld, WDFW Puget Sound Salmon Manger. Steve will be providing us with a review of how we got to where we are today in salmon management, including court decisions, ESA listings, commission policy, the North of Falcon process and which stocks we manage with in-season updates and how those updates are made. He will also talk about outlook for salmon, the rockfish ESA listing and how the rockfish plan will affect salmon fisheries.

We will have pizza, beverages and a host of raffle items as well.

you might ask him just how much science plays in the seasons, quotas and so forth, he wouldn't answer the question for me when he spoke in seqium. this is all about politics and what folks like Mr Thiesfeld can 'sell' to phil and the indians.

would love to learn just what CCA will be doing about these issues.

Yes, i have been looking through exploitation tables, harvest schedules, etc. I am sure we will have a lot of good questions for him.

CCA is already working on the rockfish plan, had input into the PS Chinook harvest management plan, and more as I am sure you are aware.
