Puget Sound Derelict Gear Removal Program
The presentation will be Mr. Jeff June, Natural Resources Consultants' VP and Chief Scientist, will shed light on the Puget Sound Derelict Gear Removal Program. Thousands of commercial salmon gillnets litter the bottom of Puget Sound and more are abandoned every year. These "ghost" nets attract, trap, and kill fish, birds, mammals, and other marine animals for decades. They are dangerous and expensive to remove. Mr. June's lead role in this vital program makes him uniquely qualified to discuss the hazards the nets pose to people and the environment and what's being done to eliminate them.

This is a great presentation and very informative! Please bring friends even if they don't fish, but are concerned about Puget Sound.
