Got the idea for this from bakslengen, a Norwegian site. Tied here as a PMD; change colors/size to suit your needs.
hook -Dai Riki 125 #16
thread -Danville 6/0 pale yellow
shuck - Congo Hair brown
abdomen - tying thread
wing - deer hair bleached
hackle - CDC pale yellow
mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark

clean, stack, measure (hook length on the 125) a clump of deer hair; spin the bobbin to tighten up the thread, 2 wraps on top of each other and firmly pull (without releasing the hair) to flare it on top of the hook (this was Take 3 - this style wing has never been easy for me)

a few wraps in front to dam it up a bit, then trim the butts as close to the hook as possible

tie in CH, fold and wrap halfway down the bend; trim shuck, return thread to base of wing butts, building a slightly tapered body

fold CdC feather and grasp tips in clip; trim away stem

split thread, insert clip

slide off clip, capturing butts of the CdC; spin bobbin, creating DIY Henry's Fork Hackle (if you want it denser, use 2 or more feathers; didn't think it was needed here)

stroke fibers back and wrap behind/in front of wing

half hitch x 2, SHHAN; use fingernail pinch to trim the CdC fibers to length

Regards,
Scott
