I'd say the opposite it true of your #1 point - I've been consistently getting into big fish every time out this year. Have not thrown a hopper on the Cedar yet. I'm still sticking to the #16 dries ....

It depends who you talk to. Some anglers say there are fewer big fish than the first couple years it was reopened and others are catching some really nice fish, like over 20", on big nymphs deep or on small mayflies and caddis at dusk. Hoppers are not really the way to go on the Westside there just aren't enough naturals as it's not hot enough. If you want to fish bigger bugs stonefly patterns are better on the westside.
