well, being that the color chartreuse is such a naturally occurring color in nature, i dont see why it WOULDNT work...lol. but on a more scientific note, trout see colors in the red to blue wavelengths about the same as humans do, however, they are able to see colors in the yellow to green wavelengths (which chartreuse most resembles) much better because those wavelengths of light travel better through water than they do through air. so take that how youd like, but a strike out of curiosity is just as good to me! might want to tie up a couple size 32 royal prince stimulator clousers while youre at it!
