I'm not sure if anybody noticed but the flows on the Cowlitz shot up to about 9200 cfs yesterday. They are on the way back down somewhat but it is a tough river to fish when there is that much water coming downstream.

As you might have heard, a man with his family turned over a 20 foot boat near the Toutle earlier this week. I don't have the latest on why this accident happened and I hope that it doesn't have anything to do with the increased flows but who knows. If it were me, I'd wait until she comes back down before heading out with the fly rod.
