Deer Camp Kitchen

Since I'm the cook, I decided to tone things down this year and make it easier. So no big Camp Chef stove, and no massive kitchen that I had to put up and take down! Canned stuff for the most part, Costco muffins and coffee to get us out there, then back to camp for "brunch". Once again (sadly), the people who "committed" to being there, found other "commitments" that took precedence, and so I wound up with a ton of food.

I'm not quite set up in these photos-stuff isn't completely put away, and the lanterns aren't put up totally yet. Nor is the bar set up properly! it ain't Trapper's setup by a looooong shot, but it works!

this was also my last rifle hunt for big game. I'm putting away the rifles. Just too many fuckwits out there with guns to feel safe anymore, and too much pressure/competition to "be a man". Which leads to way too much bullshit behavior.

Should have called me - the least I could have done was driven-up to help you eat . . .

we could have really used you, Jim! As it was, I came home with way more food than I really wanted to return with!

I don't negotiate steep terrain very well anymore, but I'm still pretty good with a fork, lol.

The fuckwits spooked me about 4 decades ago. I traded in for a camera and off-season shooting.

So, do you advance to Cook-Guard duty, or is stuff like you show be safe from five-finger shopping?

it's safe...with us, there might be some ghillied-up precision weapon pointed in your general direction at any given time. Your job as a tweaker/thief, is to decide when it's safe. Ignore the sign hanging on our tent saying "if you can read this, you're in range" at your peril.
