Duncan's Agent 99 Caddis SBS

Egg-laying companion to the E-C Caddis. Tied here as a hydropsyche; change colors/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #16
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
egg sac - dubbing chartreuse
abdomen/head - Zelon Dubbing hydropsyche
underwing - CDC dun
wing - deer hair
hackle - barred cream (oversize by 1)

mash barb, start thread, wrap halfway down bend



dub thread/dub egg sac





dub abdomen to 3/4 mark





measure (tips to bend) a pair of CdC feathers; tie in/trim butts





clean, stack, measure (tips a bit past underwing) a clump of deer hair; tie in but don't trim the butts





tie in hackle, dull side up (original instruction called for hackle tie-in before underwing/wing but I find it easier to do it after)



wrap hackle around base of wing (each wrap under the previous), let tip hang, then tie off with a couple wraps around wing base; trim







a little more dubbing at the head, half hitch x 2, SHHAN



trim wing butts
