Here is a technique that I recently taught somebody. Making the video was easier than explaining over the phone. Thought somebody on here might find it useful.Not my original design, just one that I enjoyed learning and figured others may be curious about.

Yes, this is 2mm foam. 1mm would work as well for smaller stuff.
