The extended body is tied separately, on a horizontally mounted (thin) #13 beading needle.
Wrapping a duck flank feather onto the needle as a first step forms a foundation that allows
the body to slide off the needle in a later step. Before dubbing the abdomen I soak it
in thinned-out water-based fabric cement.
