I have always fished the Yakima River Canyon but have never fished down from Roza Dam. My buddy lives in Wapato and we are going to float from Harrison down to Rest Haven. Anybody fished that section? Are there any trout in that part of the river? If anybody has any info it would be appreciated.

You might want to read the regs before targeting trout in that section of water.

Once that section opens for trout, yes, fish can be caught there.

Yea we are fishing for salmon. Will nymphing work for those guys? Do most people swing for them?

I dont actually know the area's you're talking about, but if its by Wapato I think its closed even to salmon (the river that borders the reservation isn't open).

Lots of drift boat running Harrison Rd. to Harlan Landing, which is the Selah gap. Harlan to Union Gap is the other float with plenty of drift boats.

4 boats on the water at least at 11 am today and another 8 rigs parked there form the bank at 5:30 today. Plenty of pressure.
