A couple buddies and I wanted to go do some fishing on the rivers this weekend. I wanted to see if any of you guys had a suggestion on what river to check out. Was just planning on going for salmon if possible. I have been watching the reports and reading lots of threads and it seem the Skok and Puyallup are starting to heat up. We don't have a boat-- so what would be a good river to check out? Skokomish, Puyallup, Nisqually? Are those going to be combat fishing? If you have any other suggestion of rivers to check out we are totally open to it. I am just not very familiar with a lot of river to I wanted to get some of your expert opinions.

I'm not an expert, but I do have an opinion. Stay away from the Skok & Puy. If you do go there, make sure your wear your Simms hard hat and kevlar vest.

Would you consider the Olympic Peninsula? I've gear fished teh Skok a lot up until I started fly fishing exclusively. Since then I've fly fished twice. Both times I got there early and was not treated poorly because I had staked my "space". It still got crowded, very crowded.

We are up for anything. We were planning on camping friday night. I am open for beach fishing to if that is the best place to find fish. The guy at the shop said go higher then picnic piont and lower then point no point if you do beaches. I am up for trying the Saun Jauns since I have yet to go there yet. I just am looking to get my friends in the position were they can catch fish since both of them are pretty new to it.
