Fly rod butt extension adhesive?

I have a Sage 590-2 FLi and just remembered that the reel seat's butt extension is loose. Can someone enlighten me if Sage uses heat activated glue (like the old ferrule cement) or some other type of adhesive? I'm leaving for BC in six days so sending it in for repairs isn't an option at this time.

I can't get the butt extension off by twisting/pulling by hand. Don't want to even consider using "pliers" (pretty sure Sage would tell me that damage isn't warrantied, and I'd agree). I don't have a heat gun. Suggestions?

btw, I can't get the butt extension all the way back to its proper position.

Tks

Do you have a hair dryer in the house? That might work. If your get it to move, a spot of superglue and you should be good to go.

Thanks Jeff. I washed my hands and got a good grip and twisted it back and forth and finally it came off. Going to sand the adhesive a little bit to make sure the butt extension fits properly then glue it on with (yup) super glue.
I think epoxy will treat you better long term.

Definitely the way to go if you got it off.
Jeff and nailbender - I probably should have waited for a response or two before taking action because I'm sure epoxy would have been better. Too late, the butt extension is back in place, superglue set. Reel mounted, now all I need is some water. Thanks for the input.
Super glue will ultimately fail. Then you can epoxy it
