My brother and i will be in the spokane area for several days next week looking at some properties. We are both avid fly fisherman from Alaska and were wondering if there would be any opportunities to wet a line while we are there... any suggestions?

Thanks

Akenviro;

Here's my $.02 for what it's worth. I live in the Spokane Valley and usually fish the Spokane River between Sullivan Rd. and Mirabeau Pkwy. I've only recently rediscovered flyfishing and have had sporadic success. There are some nice (by Spokane Standards) Bows, Cutts, Browns to be had. But compared to what you're used to in AK, the Spokane River probably won't be very satisfying. Another consideration, the Spokane between Upriver Damn and the Idaho stateline closes on Oct 31.

Perhaps somebody can suggest a lake around here. If your schedule allows, you might as well head east to ID or MT.
