The Nestucca and Little Nestucca is right there. Check the regs to make sure they're open and for what. I fished both in the past and have caught SRC and resident trout... but that was quite some time ago. I'm not sure what the situation is these days for steelhead but at one time, the upper section of the Nestucca was a favorite river for Jim Teeny to fish.

Here's a link for the regs:

All the above plus Miami, Newhalem Rivers. Newhalem is a bit north, a very nice state park at the mouth of the river. You can also drive up Hwy 53/or Miami Foley Hwy (about 30 ish miles, if I remember correctly)) to N. Newhalem state hatchery. Ample parking and decent trails, you can work your way up or down the river. I have only been there in the late summer, so I don't know how fishing is this early. Newhalem can get some nice Kings/Steelhead, and has cutties throughout the sysytem. There are other pull outs to hit that are not as far of a drive from Hwy 101.
Near Rockaway is Lake Lytle, it is stocked with RB's. It has a fishing dock and some areas you can fish from shore, but a float tube woud be best.
There is a lot of fishing opportunity in the greater tillamook valley and beyond. Look at google map/check the regs. There is also a nice tackle shop in tillamook, buy a couple flies and hit them up. I got a couple tips from them many many years ago.

Good Luck, Have fun!!!

Can't remember if Tillamook Sporting Goods sells Rogue or not. They are rip off kings though if it's them. Pretty much all of us that spend a lot of time in Tilly...avoid them like the plague.

It's pretty much just TSG and Fred Meyer for fishing gear in Tilly though. Load up before you go IMO.

Wow. Maybe. They are same side as Tillamook plant and close. Matter of fact I walked there a couple of times while kids ate ice cream at the plant. Never had an issue there. Use to buy my Oregon license there, now I buy online. Never purchased much but flies and license.

There isn't any fly shops that I know North of Newport...not even sure there is any there either. Oregon coast hasn't really been a fly fishers paradise with regard to buying gear. The closest I know of is Forest Grove, which is an hourish West on Hwy 6.

Fly shops in FG have struggled as well. TK Fly Supply made a decent go of it back in the mid-late 90's, but eventually threw in the towel.

The current shop has been open for about 2 years I believe. I've lived out here...for awhile. :)
