Adam, I grew up in Tillamook, about 45 minutes away. You know I don't chase steel or salmon, even though I grew up in the middle of 7 major coastal rivers. Nice area I think, but not what you are used to in Sandpoint. I know you are from Oregon, but why are you thinking of leaving?

It's still a neat town but is no longer small, sleepy or inexpensive thanks to the Intel plant built recently in neighboring Hillsboro.

Good school, nice town but changing and growing.Stay out there worse getting closer to Beaverton and Portland. Wiine country growing all around , good rivers all along the coast from the Columbia south and the rocks and surf on the coast. Lived in the Newberg area 12 years before moving here. Good luck with your move where ever it takes you.

I work out there quite a bit and it is nice. There is a bit of a tweeker problem and some developing gang issues in the surrounding towns, especially Hillsboro and Cornelius. Nice campus at PU and overall a good area. The Nestucca is less than an hour away and you get four solid months of BIG winter Steelhead, just not a big river so swinging is a little tough. By far my favorite Steelhead water though.

I'm living in Beaverton right now and it's OK. I'm not much for the burbs, but I'm stuck here for now because my girlfriend teaches here. I'm hoping to get accepted to the doctorate PT program at Pacific next year and if I do we'll be moving closer to Forest Grove. Kent pretty much hit the nail on the head. Also, traffic on 26 really SUCKS going toward the city, but the fishing out the other way is AWESOME, as you already know.
