Just curious, anyone fished the forks lately? I know the fishing is really slow this time of year, but real pretty for C&R. Just feeling lazy, maybe I'd get lucky and not have to drive to the Yak. Maybe if the rain holds off they'll be a little more fishable.

Thanks,
Tight lines Y'all!

Les - it's windy as all get out up here right now, and warm - what little snow is around is melting. The South and North forks looked reasonably clear but rising the other day - I'll drive down to check it out, will post pics and temps in a bit.

At and around 430 PM, air temp was 56*, water in the N. Fork was 44. Water in the M. Fork was 41, S. Fork was 42. Water clarity was fair, flows were strong but I don't have a cfs gauge to refer to. For Snoqualmie conditions below the falls, Leland updates a report on www.Orvis.com frequently. I'd say "fair to middlin" for trout. Oh, and I dropped my stream thermometer in the S. Fork. :(

It's the Olympus 6000. It has way too many features - but the most important ones are that its waterproof, can go under water to 10 ft, and shock resistant to a 5 foot drop. All great features when you're on a boat on walking along the shore and drop it. Thanks for the kudos - what they make it in quality and focus I hope is made up in composition and "eye" - that you can see what I do.

Derek I almost went with the 6000 myself but opted for the canon after some research.
The Olympus is a tank (in a good way :) ) and like you said has some good features compared to the Canon, but the picture quality and the proprietary memory cards kind of put me off.
Looking at your pictures though (which are great) i'm wondering if I should have stuck with my original intent?

Thanks for the recon, Derek. I bought the Olympus 1030SW a couple years ago for the waterproof factor, and then discovered the fun to be had while snapping underwater shots.
Mine is also resistant to shock from a drop of 5-6 feet, but honestly I haven't had the cajones to try that on our tile floor. I'm gonna take the manufacturer's word for it ; )

Hmmmm, I'll be heading up 90E to do a little bit of night snowboarding at Stevens. Looks like I might have to leave a little early and bring the fly rod for a couple casts! Thanks for the pictures Derek.

Yeah, the MF road is open all the way to the campground at Taylor, then closed as the bridge was washed out. Good starting point to some great water, and usually farther than the standard tweaker wants to travel up the road.
