Anyone use Fly Tyers Dungeon? I ordered one of thier christmas boxes and am pretty excited to check it out. From what I understand it is pretty jam packed with materials....

Any thoughts?

i have never ordered from them nor do i intend to order from them. it just takes too long to receive an order. i know he is a single man operation but it seems that when he gets bogged down with orders and folks email him for a status on their orders, his computer goes down and cant reply. could be a coincidence, maybe not.

see your thread here http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=47015
Have only ordered 3 times from him, all rather large orders, and never had a problem myself.
I try to order all my synthetics from him. Never had a problem either. His materials are great and worth any wait you will experience from a small operation like this.
I got one of the Christmas boxes last year and found it to be a real bargain with top notch materials. You definitely get your money's worth and then some.
have ordered from the dungeon a few times.

You don't get the quickest turnaround sometimes, but for the pricing and product it was worth the wait.

It seems to be a trend in answers from both sites. I wanted to post here and see how Washington guys where doing with his products. I ordered the christmas box this year so we will see how it goes. Untill I see the products I am not sure if I will be a repeat customer.

Huh?

If you never ordered....... don't intend to ever order...... how can YOU post here and say that it takes too long to receive an order?

Just because some folks experienced delays doesn't mean a broad stamp needs to be placed on FTD. I'm sure there are thousands of others who have had good timely service but aren't bothering to chime in nor do they have to. The opinions so far on this site seem to be of a positive experience.
Got my Christmas box last week, it probably took about three weeks from date of order. Well worth the wait for the amount of materials!

Everything looks top notch with one exception - their "skeeter fuzz" dry fly dubbing is a bit pilled (little lumps). Considering the fact that he only charges $.75 for a pack of this stuff, it's not worth the bother of complaining any further.

I'm a happy customer.
Love his selection of Congo Hair - as good as EP fibers and a lot less expensive. His H2O twist is great, too, just like Crystal Flash, but apparently out-of-stock right now. It took me a while to get my orders delivered, so getting stuff around Christmas may be problematic.

Scott
