I've tied a few shrimp flies for bones and permit. Squimp and EP Spawning shrimp. I've been using SS15 (size 6) and SC15 (size 4 and 2) hooks. As I'm looking at the hooks, I'm wondering if I should be tying on something more stout? A little concerned that they look a little thin. Should I be using SL11-3H or Daichi/Core 2546. Thanks in advance.

Another good strong hook is the Tiempco 811S. Tying a bunch up for my Cuba trip. I have used them a lot in the past.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like you agree that the SC15 and SS15 may not be stout enough.

Sc-15 is a good hook. Depending on the size of the bonefish the size 2 could be too thin. Either use a size 1 or bigger or use the sl11 3h which is a good hook also.

Think I'm going use the smaller SC-15 for searuns.

I tie these flies on Ahrex SA220 Streamer hooks as well as the Gamakatsu SL11-3H.
