They're not so bad roasted in the broiler. Is it a sweet wine Jeremy?

It's a middle of the road wine, with fruity flavours like a Shiraz. Added a bit of inverted sugar so it's the tiniest bit sweeter than most wines, but it's not sweet.

It tastes earthy like Italian wines from the beets.

That too . . . Gram loved beets & half of the big garden was full of them. I don't mind pickled beets occasionally, but I ate so many beets when I was a kid that I'm surprised what hair I have left isn't maroon . . .
