Hello,

I'm going to be in the George area and north through Bridgeport up to Oroville near the end of August. I have never been to the area, or Washington for that matter. I'm only going to have my 5 weight, but would love to hit up a stream/river or two on my way. Or three or four... Any suggestions???

You are going through prime lake fishing areas, but not in August! From George, you could drive up to the Yakima. The upper river, and the Cle Elum river are best for wading. You could drive up to Icicle Creek off the Wenatchee, or drive up the Methow and fish upriver from lower Burma Road or try the Twisp about 15 miles up from the town of Twisp. Another option is Rocky Ford creek north of Moses Lake, but the fish get kind of sluggish in August. I've never fished the Similkameen, but head it has some fish as well. Rick
