My buddy dumped some beer in his laptop last week and had the same problem. We took the keyboard out and washed it in the sink with hot soapy water and let it dry for a few days. Working good now!

Wash/clean it in rubbing alcohol don't use water.

You shouldn't have tried to lick the beer up first before you dried it out. That lets it get into too many more letters, and you might short out your tongue.

put in a bag full of Minute Rice. that will draw out the moisture. Leave it for a couple days

I've heard of washing keyboards with soap and water with good results but don't think I'd try it with a laptop. Using Minute Rice or a dessicant will dry up moisture but if the problem was caused by spilled beer it's more likely to be stickiness, corrosion or short circuit(s).
