Wulff-like in appearance.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - UTC 140 black
tail - moose body
abdomen - Congo Hair white
hackle - black
wing - calftail

mash barb, start thread at 3/4 mark



clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of calftail; tie in/trim, cover butts with thread









clean, stack, measure (hook length+) some moose body hair; tie in, smooth junction with wing bump







tie in a few strands of CH, wrap to tail (take 1 wrap behind) and back; tie off/trim





split wing; x-wrap and post (leaning forward)







tie in hackle (2 used here - old Metz neck, the 10 line was way down towards the bottom)



wrap hackle, tie off/trim, SHHAN, trim out underside

do you get a "greying effect" when the body is wet due to the black thread underbody?
Yes. Fewer CH fibers in the body would allow more bleed through; more would allow less.

If so, I bet other thread colors would be interesting to see.
Probably worth experimenting with.
