I've never been to the place but it's sad indeed when a small locally owned, customer service oriented store is forced into these actions; because they provide so many intangible benefits that the "Big Box Stores" can't provide.

I'd like to know how many fly shops we had exactly ten years ago to how many we have today. I guess I would need to consider all shops that carried a fly section etc...
Anyone have any numbers.
Or, Just name a place that you know of that has gone out of business, and I'll do the tallying.

The Morning Hatch in Tacoma closed its doors a few years back.

The FlySmith in Marysville and the place in Mount Vernon bit it several years back also

Before my time, but there were 2 shops in Oly that closed. Fortunately, The Fly Fisher in Lacey is going strong.
Yes. The secret to the Fly Fisher's success is this...
Run the business out of what appears to be a motel room and do not exceed 99sq/ft. Fly fishermen don't care about appearances, so long as they can find their desired fly or equipment.

May it stay open for decades to come.
