Hello Gents,

Just looking for a little help. Gonna make a run to the GR and see what shenanigans I can get into. Beings it's a big river, I wanted to see if the WA section was the place to be, or are those fish further up and in ...gasp... Oregon.

Second question, having never fished it, I'd love to hear thoughts on tactics (bobber, leach, small wets, big dry...) Not looking for magic or family secrets, just another steelhead bum looking for a little love.

Right now, it's primarily a bobber game with stone nymphs and egg patterns. Swung fish are still happening, but its an increasing rarity as we keep going down the line towards spawning

Be ready for crowds. Especially right now, as the fish are starting to get a little rowdy as they stage for the spawn. Personally, I pull off these fish pretty soon because they start to spawn pretty quick here... as in March

Just came back with zero luck. Small river this weekend. The water was slow. Had 2 bites all weekend. Gear fishing was good, saw 6 pulled out by noon on Sunday and there was only 10 guys at Bogans water area. The river was not crowded. It was just beautiful yesterday morning though. Woke up to a light drizzle of rain and snow with zero wind. Up above you could watch the hills get snow on the Oregon side. Grande Ronde was great, enjoy.
