I went fishing early this morning on the Klickitat. After the sun got above the canyon walls and warmed things up a bit, I notced the first grasshopper of the season. Pretty soon I spotted another one, the invasion is on. They usually don't hatch this early in Klickitat County. NO fish, lots of caddis hatching and the water is holding steady around 2000 CFS. SS

I've heard that the forecast for large numbers of grasshoppers this year has been downgraded due to the cold, wet weather which has prevailed throughout this spring (and into the summer).
